You Beauty Advent Calendar Days 1-13

Monday, 14 December 2015

The first of December was a very exciting day...

The first day of my You Beauty Advent Calendar!

Which has been sitting under my desk since mid October when it arrived from my (very generous) Mummy :)

I got one from her last year so I hoped (and hinted) that I might get one this year too!

Day 1

A NUXE Face Mask

This is a full size product of 50ml and retails for £18.50

I saw this brand when I was in Paris recently, and I have used the mask once since the 1st December. I do like it its very moisturising, but I need to use it more before I review it!

Day 2

A Molton Brown Frankincense and Allspice Handwash

For the 300ml version its £16 so this is valued at about £5.30

This soap smells like Christmas - there is no other explanation and I'm very much enjoying having it in my bathroom!

Day 3

On Day 3 I got some Cowshed hand cream!

This is their moisturising one and retails at £8

It smells like oranges and grapefruit and reminds me of a fancy spa! A bit of a Christmassy spa because of the orange!

I'm keeping it on my desk and using it every day!

Day 4

I was intrigued by this door's shape!

And it was a Sally Hanson Nail Varnish

This is in the colour Rudolph Red 210 and is perfect for Christmas as it has a lot of shimmer in it! Its actually an exclusive for Christmas and is limited edition at £6.99

Day 5

This door was quite big and contained the most exciting product so far!

Its a Bronzer by HD Brows and retails for £22

It is the light medium shade and isn't too dramatic on me. I think it would work really well for those with lighter skintones as it isn't orange at all even though it looks it in the pan.

I've been using this to blend my contour and warm up the edge of my face...I love it!

Day 6

This pot of bath salts was what was making the whole box smell delish!

Its from the company ILA Spa which is a brand sold at Space NK

These are the Bath Salts for Cleansing and they retail at £49 for 500g! Which is priceyyy

This is a 50g pot so worth £4.90

I'm not really a bath salts girl, I'm more of a bubble bath person...but I'll give them a try!

Day 7

This is something I'm really excited about!

These are sponges made of vegetable fibres which you cleanse your face with when wet. It exfoliates, removes makeup, refines pores etc etc

I'm looking forward to trying it!

Day 8

This is another amazing item!

I've heard of the Bee Venom Mask before but never this eye cream!

I was complaining this weekend that I've started to get lines under my eyes and I need an eye cream...and now I have one!

Apparently bee venom is a non surgical alternative to fillers around your eyes...we shall see! I'm really intrigued

This is a 15ml jar and retails at £55!!

UPDATE: I hate this. I woke up the next morning and my eyes were swollen shut! I had to take antihistamines and put steroid cream on to get them to even slightly go down! I'm not allergic to bees so I didn't ever think I would have such a reaction. I feel like this cream should have a warning on it like where you have to do a test patch for hairdye.
Has anyone else used this and had this reaction? I would never use this ever again!!!

Day 9

On Day 9 I received the ESPA proserum.

This is a serum that you apply before you moisturise (also meant to be anti ageing)

It is an 8ml bottle so a pretty big sample. The full size ones are 30ml and they retail for £48

So this 8ml is valued at £12.80

Not something I want to spill!

Day 10

On the 10th day I got a Read My Lips Lipstick from teeez

This is full size and retails for £14.50

Unfortunately the colour is so not me! So I will be passing this on to a friend

Day 11

On this day I got a bottle of Lipcote!

I actually use this stuff already so I was pleased to get more!

This stuff makes any lipstick last all night. I always use it if I'm wearing a lippy that will smudge or rub off on my teeth!

This retails for £3.69

Day 12

On day 12 I got a Pixi eyeliner (fortunately its black not green like I first thought!)

I haven't tried this yet, but have heard good things about the Pixi products

It is half size so is worth £6

Day 13

On Day 13 the door was pretty big...

And inside was a 50ml Body Lotion from Roger & Gallet in the Fleur de Figuier scent.

I love this smell as last year in my advent calendar I got the perfume! The body lotion smells just as good!

200ml is £14 so this is about £3.50 but smells like its worth much more!

I'm so impressed with the quality of these products (apart from the eyecream). This calendar is a great way to try pricey products that you wouldn't usually purchase!

Have you had a beauty advent calendar this year? Share your blog links below so I can check them out if you have!
