The new dating app: Bumble

Thursday, 6 August 2015

In the past (as you know if you've read my previous blogs) I've tried Tinder and OK Cupid.

Tinder was the more successful of the two, but I deleted it a while ago.

My last dating blog in May was a dating update stating that I wanted to be single and I was happy.

All true. But since that blog I've dated a couple of guys.

One who was lovely. Already a friend, so I already knew him and any girl who ends up with him will be lucky. But it got a bit coupely and I wasn't quite feeling it enough. I was still standing by my I want to be single mentality.

So we decided to just be friends.

The next one was someone I randomly met in London...went on a few dates with and then just kind of didn't hear from him again. But I didn't message him either.

We both said from the start we didn't want a relationship and I'm glad we stuck to our guns.
Probably won't be hearing from him again...or messaging him really.

Now I'm back to flying solo...

But you know its always nice to have someone to text and I do really enjoy going on dates with people and feeling wanted.

I think most girls do!

Plus one day I'd like to be a couple again!

So I downloaded Bumble.

My friend at work suggested it so I thought I'd give it a go!

Its basically like Tinder, but "the woman is in control".

So you can match, like Tinder, but only the girl can start messages with the boy...and you only have 24 hours to do so.

If you wait more than 24 hours to message someone they disappear. OR they can choose to extend you by 24 hours. They only get one extension per day - so its a bit of a compliment if someone does that!

My friend said the calibre of men was higher than that of Tinder and I think she's right....apart from this lot of course...

And then there is always that moment when you find an ex boyfriend.... we are still friends though so I blocked his face...because I'm nice like that!

Who knows...Bumble could be the new thing!

I've had a few matches and got a date lined up for next week!
