Working on my Vegas Body

I'm going to Vegas...

VEGASSS!

My favourite place in the worlddd!
With five of my friends in June! I literally can't wait.

Did I mention? Vegas!

The only thing is last time I went to Vegas I thought I looked a little plump in pictures.

There will be none of that this time! I am single and happy and am going to look great!

I thought I would start by getting Easter out of the way - eat all the eggs - and then start a fresh.

This one was particularly good...

If you want a recipe to use up your leftover creme eggs...check out mine below:

Now lets stop being silly and looking at chocolate and crack on and look hot!

Starting off

I weighed myself on Sunday morning...and I was 9st.

That is kind of my standard weight.

I like to be 8st 12 and I'd likeeee to be 8st 10 - but its tricky to get there.

I was as bad as 9st 8 at one point I think...but lets not go there! I was in a very miserable place so that's my terrible excuse.

The only time I'm every going to let that happen again is if I'm pregnant!

I did the Dukan Diet in November which did work but the run up to Christmas wasn't the best time to do it!

This time I'd like to just exercise more and eat the right things rather than deprive myself of food groups completely.

Maybe after a couple of weeks I will get desperate and revert to the Dukan though!

Nike Run App

I started the week raring to go and downloaded the Nike Run App

This app is free and really good. You can see how far you've run (3.31miles/5.3km on this occasion) and see how many calories you've burnt (279 - not enough!)

Maybe it would have been more if I hadn't stopped to take pictures of the pretty blossom.

I must admit it was a hard run - I was out of breath a lot but I did feel good afterwards.

My legs ached so bad for the next two days though, but I powered through on the Tuesday and went for a run again.

I didn't do as far, but I had plans for the evening so just thought doing 20 mins was better than nothing.

I couldn't do last night or tonight (Thursday) as I had plans that stopped me, but I plan to go for one tomorrow.

I think I'm just going to do it whenever I get the chance!

I salsa two or three nights a week at the moment so I figure if I maybe run two or three days a week then maybe in the 56 days that I have until Vegas I can work my way to a better body?

Coundown Plus App

I'm using this app....

Its called Countdown + and is also free!

That's how I know the number of days until Vegas!

Strength Training

When I got back from my Sunday run I did some work with dumbbells, shoulder presses, bicep curls, tricep extensions, and then squats and sit ups.

I also did the same weight exercises on Monday and Tuesday

You really don't need to pay for an expensive gym membership to do exercise.

Something I used to do (and might do again) is the Pop Pilates Youtube Videos.

They are between 5 and 15 minutes long and are really intense workouts. Not cardio, but strength training.

I really would recommend those as they are short but intense, so don't take up much time.

Also you don't need to buy any fancy dumbbells, most of her workouts just use the weight of your own body which is great.

Nutrition

In terms of my diet I don't think I eat too badly. I generally have a salad for lunch and a healthy dinner (some kind of meat/vegetable combo).
My issue is I don't really have breakfast (except recently when I've been having hot cross buns - naughty!) and in the afternoons I get peckish for something sweet...like Easter Eggs!

My new plan is just to cut out the naughty stuff.

I bought a NutriBullet on Tuesday which is a purchase I've been deliberating since Christmas. It was £99 but I've already used it everyday and can see myself using it everyday to come!

I went to Tesco on the way home from my run on Tuesday and tried to be thrifty about my Nutribullet recipes.

I think it would be quite easy to buy raspberries and pineapple and all the expensive fruit so I tried to see what had deals on.

I therefore bought bananas, spinach, kale, celery, mangos and coconut milk.

I added in some Chia seeds too which I already had in the cupboard and wizzed it all up...

Actually surprisingly yummy!

My diet plan is something along these lines:

Half a large nurtibullet for breakfast
Salad for lunch (I usually have, lettuce, chicken, pine nuts, avocado, broccoli and cucumber)
Afternoon snack - the other half of my nutribullet
Healthy dinner (meat or fish and veg, or soup or something quite low carb!)

I've been chopping up my veg the night before and popping it in the fridge ready for wizzing up in the morning so its fresh

Wish me luck!
If anyone has any nutribullet recipes they love or tips and tricks for weight loss / toning up then let me know in the comments below!

  1. Good luck to you! 9 stone is tiny! I'd love to be there haha.

Running is great, it is hard at the start but it gets easier and then you're able to pace yourself so it doesn't ruin you so much. I want to go to vegas, I'm jealous!

  2. I don't actually wish you luck, but rather wish you the strenght you'll need to keep up!
Remember that the first 2-4 days are the hardest, after that your body and mind will adjust to your new way of doing things. It's always good to choose a more healthy lifestyle, even if it's just for a short while or to lose weight. ♥
    I believe in you :D
