You Beauty Advent Calendar 2014! Days 6-10

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

I went into work on Monday and was super excited at the prospect of opening three days worth of Advent Calendar (Saturday Sunday and Monday). Here is what I got!

6th December

Behind day 6 was the Sisley Radiant Glow Express Mask

Apparently it absorbs impurities and deep cleanses the skin giving an instant radiance boost.

This is 10ml and is selling for £10 on ebay...which is quite a lot!
But then the full size which is 60ml sells for £73...ouch! I hope it is as good as its price tag!

UPDATE
I used this on the evening of 8th December - it did feel very nice and was quite a thin creamy facemask rather than one that went hard.
My skin felt soft afterwards, but I wouldn't spend £73 on this...but then I wouldn't spend £73 on any facemask!

7th December

I think this window is the reason this whole box smells so good!

This candle is by Aromatherapy Associates and smells DIVINE!

When my friend Emily and I smelt it we thought we could smell ginger and jasmine.
But I looked it up online and apparently it is vanilla and ylang ylang.

It smells like a spa...and smells amazing!

It is worth £16 and I can tell why as the scent is so strong!

Not sure I will be using my code for £10 off as the proper sized candles are £35 and Christmas present shopping is making me poor!
I love my little one though :)

8th December

On day 8 the door was quite big!

And hiding behind it was a full size 75ml Philip Kingsley Elasticizer worth £15

This is a pre wash treatment (like the Michael Van Clarke one I have).

I'm excited to try it as all the reviews I've read on this are 5Star

A good haul for a Monday morning!

9th December

On the 9th December I opened the little door to find a mascara peeking back at me.

I've never even heard of the brand Teeez, but I do like the packaging.

When I opened it I was surprised to see the mascara had the same design on the tube - not a boring looking mascara at all.

This mascara is water based so kind on the eyes and is apparently very easy to wash off.
This makes me a little suspicious as to how smudge proof it is...but who knows until you try it!

It retails at £16 so quite a lot for a mascara.

My main concern is the brush... I like the plastic thin brushes like the L'Oreal Telescopic, so I'm not sure how I will get on with a big fiberous brush...but we shall see - I might love it!

UPDATE
I used this on 10th December and was actually quite impressed. The formula is quite dry so it is easy to apply thin coats.
It still isn't as good as my holy grail L'Oreal Telescopic, but I do like it and it did apply well.

10th December

I wondered what would fit behind this tiny odd shaped door...

It was Burt's Bees Almond and Milk Hand Cream

This stuff smells like amaretto to me (almonds) and is really really creamy.

It is quite hard to get out of the little pot if you have nails, but that is the only flaw!
Very handy for your handbag too!

This retails at £4

I can't believe we are already on the 10th December - I can't wait for the next 14 days of advent calendar treats!!

  2. How exciting to have opened three days at once, for some reason I can relate to loving that idea haha! :) My favourite would have been the candle, I adore Aromatherapy Associates products!! :) Thanks a million for following my blog by the way, I've happily followed yours too.
