Nail Swatch - Khaki Vert by Chanel

Tuesday, 18 November 2014

My favourite colours are Autumn colours, particularly on nails!

Here is a colour that I rarely wear because it doesn't suit the spring or summer vibe...but for Autumn it is perfect :)

In Autumn 2010 the Khaki collection was released by Chanel.
The browny ones were a bit muddy looking for me...but the green is perfect.

And this just shows the quality of these nail polishes. I bought it in Autumn 2010 and in Autumn 2014 the forumla still glides on as smoothly as day 1! It hasn't gone gloopy or seperated at all!

This line of nail polishes was discontinued once it sold out (as it was limited edition) but there are some dupes out there.

Essie - Sew Psyched is pretty similar. Particularly when it is swatched onto your actual nails. At £7.99 when my Chanel one was £18 it is a fraction of the cost.

The Chanel bottles are just so pretty...maybe not pretty enough to be £18 but still!

The square lid comes off to reveal a smaller lid which is much easier to use but isn't quite so aesthetically pleasing.

I painted on three thin coats

And topped it off with my Seche Vite top coat (which I really recommend)

The great thing about Chanel polishes is the formula. You can paint three thin coats and they dry so fast. Even other high end brands like OPI (I find) go goopy and it is very hard to get a thin coat if you've had the bottle more than 6 months.

I know nail polish does go off but you expect it to last a while if you have paid quite a bit of money and this Chanel one has lasted me so long.

An investment if you really think about it!

Love this colour for Autumn :)
