A Boots Haul

Monday, 1 December 2014

I popped into Boots to get shampoo...and of course came out with more than shampoo!

Here is what I got!

Let's start with the shampoo and conditioner, this is the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. Since May I have been using the Long Term Relationship Herbal Essences but I haven't been massively impressed. It is nice, but nothing special and as I don't wash my hair very often (about twice to three times a week) I like it to smell nice and feel special!
This one smells lovely, like coconuts but not too much like washing your hair with Malibu, because that is never good!
I've noticed my hair is much easier to brush. I didn't even need detangling spray and it smells lovely.
I used to use this shampoo on my ski season in 2008 so the smell reminds me of that! Thanks to Jess (http://jessicaannmartin.blogspot.co.uk/ ) for reminding me about this shampoo in Paris (she had the mini versions) and I had forgotten how much I love the smell.

The next thing I got was the Nivea in Shower Moisturiser with Honey. The theory behind these is they are like conditioner for your body. So you use shower gel (like you would a shampoo) and then use this in shower moisturiser (like you would a conditioner).
I really like this as it means I don't have to moisturise when I get out of the shower in the morning and it is quite cold!
I've been bad recently, as it is cold, and haven't been moisturising so I really like this option instead.
I recommend.

Next is Boots Nail Varnish Remover...boring but necessary. This is nothing special but I see no point in spending lots on Nail Varnish remover!

The final "Non-Makeup" item is the Colgate Max White One Optic.

I always use this toothpaste and the matching mouthwash. I think they are really good and I like my teeth to be super white. I've never had the optic version before and I think the main difference is it is blue in the tube so it instantly makes your teeth appear whiter rather than just doing it long term.

Now on to makeup. It was 3 for the price of 2 in Boots on all their makeup so I got three things!

First lets start with the Colour Elixir by Maybelline. They class this as a lip colour not a lip gloss...but I would probably describe it as a lip gloss.

The packaging is really cute because it looks like a lipstick...

But really it has an applicator like a gloss.I got the colour Nude Illusion

This is just the "lip gloss"

So as you can see it is a nice nude but isn't super pigmented. Although I have watched youtube videos on the other colours and they are much more pigmented so maybe it is just this one that isn't...how pigmented can a nude gloss really be!

I took it off and then tried it with my Sleek Matte me in Birthday Suit underneath it.
(This is why I had purchased it really, as I love the Birthday Suit colour but sometimes want a gloss over the top)

It looked so nice and this has been my go to lip colour for the past two weeks

Loverly and shineyyy

The next item I purchased was the Rimmel Nude Eyeliner. I have a MAC White eyeliner to line my waterline (it makes your eyes look bigger, whereas black makes them look smaller) but I think it is too white. So I have had my eye on this nude for a while, and it didn't disappoint!

Look how much bigger my left eye (on your right) looks...

I have used this every day since I got it

And finally I got the L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara. I have heard such good things about this and I literally love it.
The wand is plastic and quite thin. Not a big fat fiberous mascara brush. It means that you can brush through every lash and you get no clumps.
This is my favourite thing I got, it is just so good I really recommend.

Apologies for my onesie (I was cold whilst getting ready)...but look at the comparison below:

And with both eyes done:

I highly recommend!
