Revlon Moisture Stain and L'Oreal Infallible Review

Monday, 22 September 2014

So if you've read my shopping blog you will know that I've bought a second one of these Revlon Moisture Stains.
I already have it in Perisian Passion:

And now I have it in New York Scene:

Perisian Passion is a purple base and this is a kind of dull red. Not dull as in boring, but not bright like a pillar box!

I also got a new foundation, L'Oreal Infallible 24 hours in the colour 140. Obviously I'm not going to wear it for 24 hours...that's is just grubby!

So I thought I would do a first review of the foundation and the moisture stain :)

Start by picking your utensil....brush, beauty blender or fingers! I went for a beauty blender.
Wet it and it will double in size. Then squeeze out all the excess water. It means that the sponge doesn't absorb all the foundation and also gives you a really even coverage.

Next pump some foundation onto the back of your hand. I did one pump and it was enough for my whole face
I applied it over one side of my face. Here is it with:

And here is without:

So you can see it evened out my skintone, toned down my redness on my cheeks and gave me a good medium coverage. You can build it up though for higher coverage (which I ended up doing the next day for a night out), however for daytime, I felt that one layer was enough for me.

I added concealer, bronzer and blush:
Bobbi Brown bronzer in Medium 2, Maybelline concealer and Clinique blush in sunset glow. I like this blush as it feels quite Autumny. It isn't a pinky or peach tone that I would use for summer, it is definitely a darker blush which makes you look like you've been for a walk in the snow. A nice flush of colour.

This is the skin all finished with the above products.
Moving onto my new Moisture Stain.
I started with MAC lippencil in Brick:

And then added the moisture stain. These give such a smooth velvety finish, they aren't sticky which I love! So it isn't like putting on a traditional lipgloss.

And here it is all finished. I really like both products, the foundation and the moisture stain!
