Dark Autumn Lips - Revlon ColourStay Moisture Stain

Monday, 15 September 2014

As I've said before, I love this look:

Obviously the dress is insanely amazing, but so is the lipstick.

Khloe wore this to the Oscar's in March but I think this lipstick is more of an Autumn look. Autumn officially starts next Tuesday so I wanted to get my lip look downnn in advance!

These are the products I used:

Barry M lipliner in 117 Wine
Elf lip primer and plumper
Revlon Colour Stay Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion

First of all I started with clean dry lips:

I then applied the elf primer and plumper which I bought in America. One end (primer) is a creamy consistency and neutralises out the colour of your lips, making your lip colour look more vibrant and true to colour. I just put a bit on my lips and smudge it out. The plump side is a cinnamon clear kind of lip balm which plumps up your lips. I use that on its own though, not under lipstick. As you can see it neutralises out the pink:

Next I outlined my lips with the lip pencil. I always start with the cupids bow as it is the bit I like to define most. I'm quite lucky in the fact that my cupid bow is quite big anyway, my lips don't just go straight across. I then do the bit under my bottom lip (opposite the cupids bow). Pretty huh?:

I then finish outlining my lips, making sure that you do the sides of your mouth. I try and go right to the edge, but not too overdrawn like Miss Kylie Jenner has been sporting recently.

Next I fill in my lips with the pencil. I find this keeps the lipstick on much longer and I also think the pencil colour is gorgeous. I would definitely wear it alone for a matte look:

This is what the brush of the Revlon Moisture Stain looks like. It is pretty easy to apply, just like applying lipgloss really!

I applied this over the pencil and this was the finished look:

I was actually really impressed with the formula. It isn't sticky like a lipgloss (I hate sticky lipgloss) and it stayed on whilst I ate an avocado. A bit random, but I was hungry. So it passed the food test. I put it on at 2pm and at about 8pm wiped it off and I was left with gorgeous stained lips which were actually a really nice colour, so even if it had wiped off whilst eating (and I'm sure it would if you ate ribs or something) I would have been happy with the colour.

Literally LOVE this - I am going to have to get it in other colours!

They are currently on offer in Superdrug for £5.99 (normally £7.99)

Peace OUT!

Love xxx
