Recipe - Home-made Iced Coffee

Sunday, 10 August 2014

Iced Coffee is literally my favourite (non alcoholic) drink.

When I went to Florida with Jess we had SO much Iced Coffee... even ones bigger than our heads:

I normally get an Iced Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks, but I've had two mornings off this week to decorate and there is no Starbucks near my was therefore time to get creative!

All you need for this is an ice cube tray, strong coffee, milk and sweeteners or sugar if you want them.

First get some coffee, I have the Nescafe Azera one because it is YUM

Next, make up a jug of coffee. I used two heaped tablespoons of coffee to two mug fulls of boiling water. So pretty strong!

Pop this in the fridge

You will notice my fridge mostly consists of the essentials...nail polish and champagne!

I have a fancy pants ice machine in my flat (decorated with some pictures from my brother's wedding :) which were sent with their thank you card - so sweet) so I had to go out and buy ice cube trays but it was so worth it!

Once your coffee is cool, fill up your trays!

And pop them in the freezer....again the essentials - Fab Icelollys!!

Leave these to freeze and then you are good to go!

Put some ice cubes in your glass....

Top up with milk

Give it a stir and you are good to go!

The coffee ice cubes mean that as the cubes melt your coffee just gets stronger and more delicious! Unlike regular ice cubes which just dilute and ruin your delicious drink.

If you want to add sugar just stir it in, but if you want to add sweeteners I recommend putting them in the glass before the ice cubes and putting in a DROP of boiling water. Then they will dissolve properly.
