OK Cupid...

My last dating blog was a bit of a disaster. Sometimes I need to think before I write.

Therefore, this one will be a lot more light hearted!

Obviously I've been on Tinder for a while, but my friend is on OK Cupid and so I thought I would give that a try too.

No harm in that!

The thing I like about Tinder is that only people who you match with can speak to you.

This is not the case with OK Cupid and to be honest I found it a bit much!!

I set up a profile yesterday in about 10 minutes. I answered the questions put up a couple of pictures and then left to go to the theatre to see Avenue Q (which is really good by the way!)

When I came out of the theatre I had 65 messages from people, and I've had another 26 this morning.

That is all great for my ego but I don't like the fact that they aren't filtered. Literally anyone can message you therefore it doesn't really boost my ego at all!

I'm not going to show anyone's user name because that's mean...but this man is married, age 50, "fucked his best friend's sister" and messaged me saying - "Do you like older guys?" Apparently he earns between $250,000-$500,000 per year...doesn't make a difference to me...even if you were in my age range I would not be messaging you!!

I've now worked out how to filter messages so I only see people in my age bracket, but there is still not one out of those 91 that I would consider going on a date with.

Perhaps the shallowness of Tinder, just seeing someone's picture, is better. It is a bit awkward reading a "self summary "about someone who is basically trying to promote themselves and what the most private thing they are willing to admit is!

It also makes me feel like Bridget Jones (I've just finished the third book and she goes on a dating site).

Tinder doesn't feel like a dating site...this definitely does. It makes me feel left on the shelf and desperate!

I might give it a miss and stick to single life!
