Florida day 5-6 NASA and Universal

Saturday, 7 June 2014

Yesterday we went to the Kennedy Space Centre. For Jess' boyfriends Christmas present she had got them both tickets to go there. As I've explained he couldn't come on the holiday so Jess and I went.

It wasn't exactly our ideal day out, but it was quite interesting.
When you arrive there are all the replica life size spaceships and plaques with information about them:

We then watched a video about the Atlantis space ship and saw the real one. I think it's been to space 30 times? Not really sure oops!

We then went on a bus tour of all the launchpads. I might have fallen asleep on the bus but I did see some of the launchpads:

I think anyone who is into space would enjoy the Kennedy Space Centre, it is really interesting but just not really my thing!!

Today however was definitely my thing! We went to a Universal and obviously started at Harry Potter!!

We saw (over a fence) the new section that they are adding to The Harry Potter section of Universal. Unfortunately it opens in July so we have just missed it!!

I wore my Bellatrix Lestrange dress by BlackMilk. Check out their website I want everything on it!! They do Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones! All my favourite things! I have one of the Game of Thrones dresses too and I got Jess a Maurarders Map dress for her birthday.

We both had some butter beer and wandered around Harry Potter. You can get two types, chilled or frozen. We both got frozen which is slush puppy textured and yummy. Tastes like it has a fair few calories though!

The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride is incredible. We went on it twice. It is part roller coaster and part simulator. I also think it's really good that the area where you queue is interactive. There are the talking portraits, holograms of Dumbledore, Harry, Ron and Hermione and the talking sorting hat etc.
It makes the queuing time feel much shorter.

Flight of the Hippogriff is a tame roller coaster which we went on just to say we had, it's quite short and the queue was quite long.

We then headed off to Jurassic Park. I love Jurassic Park and the water ride is really good. It was the hottest day EVER so it was nice to go on a water ride! We spent the rest of the day wandering round in the sunshine...I think I've finally changed colour!

We are going back on Thursday so we are going to do the other rides then!
